The Willard Byrd designed course, the newest and most difficult of the three options at Port Royal Plantation, Planters Row has been the home to the Champions Tour’s Hilton Head Seniors International since 1985.
Planters Row offers a challenge to golfers, as water is a factor on 10 of the 18 Port Royal holes. The beautiful course with an unforgettable Low County park like setting presents large greens and narrow fairways. The front nine is short but challenging with the Par 3 fourth hole presenting a carry over water and the Par 5 fifth requiring crossing the water twice!
Planters Row at Port Royal Plantation is a challenge for golfers of all skill levels with its narrow, tree lined fairways and small undulating greens, and is a must play while on Hilton Head Island!

Designed by one of America's most respected golf architects, the George Fazio Course, located in the beautiful Palmetto Dunes Resort, is ranked among the “Top 100 Courses in the US.” This unique course is considered to be the most challenging course on Hilton Head Island and is also the only par 70 course in the area.
The Fazio course at this world class golf resort is exceptional, challenging, and provides a beautiful natural setting that only a Hilton Head Lowcountry course offer. To conquer this course, you have to be on your long and short game for sure. You must have a precise shot to endure the par-70 18 holes with its teasing bunkers and daunting water hazards.
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort upgraded the grass on the award winning George Fazio Golf Course in January 2010. The TifDwarf Bermudagrass was replaced with a state-of-the-art Diamond Zoysia grass, which promotes superior and consistent year-round playing conditions for golfers. The new grass provides a more consistent experience across the 18 holes and 1 practice green, year-round.
In addition to the George Fazio Course, there are also 2 other excellent courses located at the Palmetto Dunes Golf Club, the Arthur Hills Course, and the Robert Trent Jones Course. Try to play all 2 during your next visit to Hilton Head Island!

Designed in 1967 by noted architects George W. Cobb and Willard C. Byrd, Robber’s Row at the Port Royal Golf Club has been a long time favorite course on Hilton Head Island for many years. This beautiful Lowcountry scenic course was redesigned in 1994 by world famous architect Pete Dye, and is the perfect combination of a challenging course, beautiful scenery and Lowcountry history, making it a golfers dream day on the greens.
Surrounded by beautiful magnolias and live oaks on the scenic marsh side of the Plantation, the most beautiful of the Port Royal courses offers a 6,657 yard par 72 course that is an excellent choice even for intermediate golfers. Seasoned pros will also enjoy Robber’s Row with its challenging water hazards and well-bunkered greens that require accuracy in the approach and a skill with the putter.
Oozing with SC Lowcountry history, the Robbers’s Row course in Port Royal Plantation has a background that will be of interest to history buffs. Many people do not realize that this course actually sits upon Fort Walker, a Union outpost during the Civil War. Along the course, you will find historical markers noting several interesting events of the Civil War era that describe events which took place on Hilton Head Island.
The tee-shots at Robber’s Row have generous fairways to land in, but approach shots require accuracy to score on the well protected greens. A quartet of par 3 holes, several sharp doglegs, along with challenging sand and water hazards keep you on your toes as you make your way through this challenging course.

Designed in the early 1960’s by George W. Cobb, the Barony Course at the Port Royal Golf Club was one of the first courses built on Hilton Head Island. Located in tree lined Port Royal Plantation and oozing with Southern hospitality, the Barony Course demands accuracy is the desired skill for an eagle game.
This course is also very deceptive, as it appears to be fairly open shots with generous fairways when you approach the tee box, but you quickly realize that the Lowcountry trees, bushes and other landscaping, combined with well placed bunkers requires good use of your irons and short shot.
At just under 6,000 yards from the regular tees, this par 72 George Cobb course is the most user friendly of Port Royal’s three courses. Play is interesting as you approach the doglegs with water on both sides of the fairway and a carry over the water (and alligator’s head) on the 14th.
In addition, Port Royal Golf Club features the first John Jacobs School of Golf in the Carolinas, offering 35 years of teaching experience. This well respected school has helped thousands of golfers become their own best teachers. Port Royal also boasts a new 15,000 square foot clubhouse that is tucked under a canopy of Southern oaks and magnolias that brings a modern southern plantation feel to your golf experience. Relax before or after your game on the beautiful 6,800 square-foot wrap-around veranda.

Established in 1982, the Rees Jones designed Oyster Reef Golf Club, located inside the gates of beautiful Hilton Head Plantation, is popular among locals and visitors of the Island. This semi-private18-hole award winning championship course has been voted one of the “Top 20 Courses in the Carolinas”, one of the “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest and was voted the 2006 Low Country Golf Course of the Year. Oyster Reef Golf Club enjoys a quite a prestigious reputation on Hilton Head Island and is a “must golf” course during your visit.
Situated on 190 picturesque acres of beautiful SC Low Country land, the course is surrounded by marshes, lagoons, moss dripping oak trees and lush foliage. The Oyster Reef Course utilizes Hilton Head’s natural landscape to create a challenging course with breathtaking Island views. Designer Rees Jones used the natural landscape and terrain of the Low Country to make one of the Island’s most awe inspiring holes, which has graced the cover of many golf magazines. The signature hole, the Par 3 #6 hole at the Oyster Reef Golf Club has a beautiful view of the Port Royal Sound that seems to go on for miles. The play is 192 yards from the championship tees to the green and the spectacular view makes it hard to concentrate on anything other than the Low Country scenery. For even more distraction, Jones added an extra large bunker right in front of the hole to offer a challenge for even the most experienced golfer!
Ranging from 7,014 yards from the championship tees to 5,288 yards from the forward tees, Oyster Reef challenges and rewards golfers of all skill levels. The 18-hole championship course offers 66 bunkers, elevated tees, tiered greens, and numerous dogleg fairways for interesting and challenging play. The well designed tiers and varying greens size calls for planned approaches for every shot on the course. The two back tees require you to call on your golf skills while you attempt to hit tee shots through the tall Carolina pines and around the bunkers, and the water hazards throughout the 18 scenic holes keep you alert and intrigued as you prepare for each unique shot.

The old Sea Marsh Golf Course in Sea Pines Resort is no longer. It has been completely transformed into a magnificent new course, designed by legendary golfer and course designer Pete Dye. Also the designer of the famous Harbour Town Golf Links in Sea Pines, Pete Dye has completed a total transformation of the old course, now known as Heron Point by Pete Dye.
True to Dye’s unique golf course design schemes, Heron Point has tree lined fairways, sprinkled with plenty of eye catching landscape distractions along the way. His trademark visual deception adds to the structure and challenge of the course, giving you a run for your money to meet par.
Heron Point is a fun course to play and always leaves you guessing with its hidden bunkers, ever present water hazards, and dramatic greens with shifting elevations. The new course offers seven sets of tees including a special set of permanent tees for family enjoyment and novice players. The new Heron Point Course offers beautiful views of the scenic Low Country landscape with the marshlands and forests spotlighted from various holes.
Heron Point is the perfect addition to Sea Pines and the world famous Harbour Town Golf Links. You could make a vacation on Hilton Head just playing these world class courses in Sea Pines.

Designed by golf legend Fuzzy Zoeller and award winning architect Clyde Johnston, Island West Golf Club is the perfect course choice for golfers of all skill levels, providing a challenging yet very playable course.
Rated 4 stars by Golf Digest, Island West is a beautiful course with rolling fairways and the magnificent Low Country scenery of natural marshes and moss filled large live oak trees. Stretching out to 6,800 yards from the back tees, but only 4,900 yards from the forward tees, the course challenges without intimidating and plays well for all golfers.
The Island West course is always in pristine condition and the state of the art golf carts with GPS are waiting to take you to each scenic tee. The tees are tight to start but become more generous as you make your way through the holes. The landings are generous and there are several approaches to play on the course.
