My wife and I took a one-week vacation to Hilton Head Island this summer and stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites.
While it can't compare to the beachfront tproperties, it was clean, the room was nice, the staff very helpful, and the free breakfast was good. Within walking distance are stores, fast-food restauants, and banks. The 10-minute drive to the beach is easy and pleasant. My only complaints were the exterior corridors, and the fact you cannot escape concrete--you have to walk across hot asphalt to get to the pool, the restaurant, or the miniature putting green. The sofa and chair in the room were very uncomfortable and should be replaced (but the bed and the rest of the room was fine). Oh, and you may want to avoid parking too close to the putting green!

Overall, very good value for the price and the money we saved we were able to spend on other things...like parasailing, dining out, biking, and exploring the island!

Despite the bad reviews we read prior to our trip, we were very pleased with our room and service. The room was clean (n/s), furniture was a little on the older side, but considering our price, we were pleased. There was a small issue with our a/c (noise), however their maintenance guy came within minutes of our call to the front desk to repair. Service was excellent throughout our stay. The staff was pretty friendly, and offered us directions to both the beach and restaurants. The beach was beautiful, and only took about 10 minutes (drive). There are several restaurants, an Applebees on the property, as well as a Walmart across the street which was helpful. The pool was not the cleanest, but we would rather go to the beach any day. We felt safe and our stay was quiet, no issues with parking. We would definitely stay again.
