Driving Directions

Shipyard Plantation is just off Highway 278 five miles from the Hilton Head Airport. It is 19 miles from Exit 8 on I-95. Savannah, Georgia is 40 miles south and Savannah International Airport is 35 miles via I-95. Charleston, South Carolina is 90 miles north. Take Exit 8, Hwy 278, East approximately 18 miles to the Island. Take the Cross Island Parkway toll bridge. Stay in left lane. You will exit the Cross Island Parkway as it turns into Palmetto Bay Road. Continue on thie road to the Sea Pines traffic circle. Take 2nd exit to Pope Avenue. At 2nd light, make left into Shipyard Plantation.

Sunrise from our room

My husband and I spent several days at the Crowne Plaza to celebrate our 36th anniversary. This stay came about after a bad experience I had in Alexandria, VA at the hotel that had just become a Crowne Plaza the day before my arrival. My husband and I stayed in a horizon view room, where the view was gorgeous. We had a king sized bed with very comfortable bedding, and there was also a couch, coffee table, desk, and TV hutch/dresser. Every person we spoke with there was friendly and helpful. We did have a little trouble getting service in the bar our first night there, but it was crowded and busy with a dance club that hangs out there Friday nights, so we understood. We used most of the facilities there, and could find no fault with any of them. Overall, we had a fabulous long weekend there, and loved Hilton Head Island so much. We plan to come back again & again.

This hotel exceeded our expectations since we booked with hotwire and you do not find out where you are staying until after the booking. They listed it as 4 star so I took a chance. It was an exquisite hotel, clean, southern hospitality from ALL the staff. Entire hotel was spotless, and landscaping was beautiful including a lovely walk among palm trees, flowers and waterways with hammocks and seats if you want to stop and chill out. This was the path to the Beach. Nice clean beach area! We were provided with a small satchel of lavender sheet spray, soothing CD, and satin eye mask to further the relaxing experience of their totally comfortable mattress!! We had a courtyard room, which overlooked the pool area. During the day, music played near the pool, which made it all the more enjoyable. They offer just about anything you could possibly want and were always willing to help out with restaurant suggestions or directions since we were new to the area. I plan to go back here again and would recommend it to anyone.
